The Preservation Society of Charleston Book & Gift Shop Partners with the Charleston Horticultural Society to Offer the Finest in Gardening Books, Tools and Accessories Kick Off Event and Book Signing to be Held May 27th

Monday, May 10, 2010 - May 10, 2010 – Charleston, SC -- The Preservation Society of Charleston Book & Gift Shop is pleased to announce the debut of a new must-have collection of gardening books, implements and accessories selected by the Charleston Horticultural Society. “The traditions of horticulture and gardening have deep roots in our community’s culture. From Noisette and Michaux to Loutrell Briggs, exceptional talent thrives in our natural environment. Charleston gardens have been celebrated for centuries!” said Anne Pope, Chair of the Society’s Shop Committee. “The PSC Book & Gift Shop is happy to support these worthwhile pursuits with practical tools of the trade, along with accessories and a stock of first-rate gardening books – all given the stamp of approval from our friends at the Horticultural Society.” Items including “Bionic” gloves, and “Cobrahead” multipurpose tools have been popular with customers, and popular titles such as Noisette Roses and Mrs. Whaley and her Charleston Garden are essential for any gardener’s library.

On Thursday, May 27th, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., the Preservation Society of Charleston and the Charleston Horticultural Society will celebrate their collaboration with book signings and floral demonstrations. Tara Guérard, of Tara Guérard Soirée, is the author of Weddings. Heather Barrie of Gathering Floral + Event Design and Melissa Bigner, Editor of Charleston Weddings Magazine, are co-authors of Southern Bouquets. The event is open to the public.
