Anna-Catherine Alexander

Anna-Catherine Carroll is a preservation advocate dedicated to protecting Charleston’s cultural heritage and shaping a more equitable, resilient future. As Director of Advocacy Initiatives at PSC, she leads efforts to influence planning, zoning, and land use policy while working to elevate community voices in local decision-making. She has been involved with PSC since 2014.
With a background in urban planning and policy analysis, Anna-Catherine brings a data-informed and people-centered approach to her work. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at College of Charleston in Historic Preservation and Community Planning and has since built a career focused on aligning growth with the values of historic preservation and livable communities.
She deeply invested in safeguarding the city’s identity amid ongoing pressures from overdevelopment, tourism, and climate change. Whether in front of the City Council or out in the community, Anna-Catherine is committed to advancing policies that serve both the built environment and the people who call it home.
