Walking Tour: Social & Cultural

This tour follows the edge of the peninsula including the Battery and White Point Garden, offering views of Charleston Harbor and nearby historic landmarks. The tour focuses on the city’s maritime history, including trade, defense, and the role of the waterfront in Charleston’s development. Stops may include points along East Bay Street and surrounding streets where historic homes, docks, and defensive walls reflect the city’s coastal past. The guide discusses hurricanes, earthquakes, and harbor fortifications that shaped the landscape.
