295 Calhoun Returns To BAR-L

While the current submittal shows some minor improvement to details and materials, there has been no meaningful change to the overall size and design of the building. Given the proposal was denied by the BAR-L, there should be significant restudy of the building’s fundamental elements, including height, scale, mass, and architectural direction. As submitted, we question if this proposal should even be heard by the BAR, given its close similarity to the previously denied version. The PSC will continue to stand up for an appropriately scaled, contextual design and urge the Board to reject this proposal – Charleston deserves better. The BAR-L will convene via Zoom this Wednesday, August 25 at 4:30 PM. View the agenda here and image overview here. Public comments may be sent to [email protected].
