Walking Tour: Social and Cultural
Located just a few miles from Downtown Charleston, East of the Cooper River, sits the Town of Mount Pleasant. Developed in the early 1800s, Mount Pleasant’s Old Village neighborhood is a historic district filled with tree-lined streets and notable residences. Just adjacent is Shem Creek, a tributary leading to the Charleston Harbor, which has served as a commercial hub of the town for centuries. Join us for this immersive walking tour experience with Captain Bryan Blalock to take in the history, culture, language, and snacks of Shem Creek’s shrimping and maritime industries.
