69th Carolopolis Awards announced, including new Resilience honors

Each year, the Preservation Society celebrates the best of preservation in Charleston and the Lowcountry through the Carolopolis Award program. This year’s award winners included 15 unique projects that represent the highest standard for preservation and design.

The 69th Carolopolis Awards notably marked the introduction of the new Resilience Award category to showcase exceptional examples of sensitive flood adaptations to historic properties. Two projects received the inaugural Resilience Award, which we hope will inspire other innovative approaches to addressing climate risk in Charleston.

Behind every award-winning project is a creative, dedicated team of property owners and professionals whose efforts we are proud to recognize through this time-honored program. Now in its 69th year, the Carolopolis Award embodies the Charleston community’s unwavering commitment to stewardship of its historic places.
