PSC Members are invited to a celebratory happy hour at the historic Blind Tiger Pub to kick off the Preservation Month series. Join us in the courtyard to meet and mingle with PSC staff, the Board, and fellow members. Complimentary food and drinks will be provided courtesy of Blind Tiger Pub and King Street Hospitality Group.

Spirited Brunch

Various Downtown Congregations | Event Hub at 96 Wentworth St.

Food is a symbol of our various histories, cultures, and faiths, but also one of the best ways to bring people together. Enjoy a glimpse into the culinary traditions of the Holy City’s many houses of worship during this free snack tour. Restrooms, maps, and fans can be found at our central event hub, located in Arnold Hall at the College of Charleston’s Jewish Studies Center (96 Wentworth St). You may visit the tour stops in any order you wish, but be sure to stop by Arnold Hall to meet additional congregations and organizations.

Elizabeth Kirkland Cahill Distinguished Lecture with James F. Lima

The Charleston Music Hall | 37 John St, Charleston, SC

Join us for the annual Cahill Distinguished Lecture featuring James F. Lima, President of James Lima Planning + Design, as he discusses “What It Takes: Building Great Public Places.” Lima specializes in the creative economics required to develop urban destinations that effectively leverage public and private sector financing to create dynamic public spaces that contribute to some of the world’s greatest cities. Current PSC Members are invited to join us immediately following the lecture for a members’ reception across the street from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. in the Camden Room at the Charleston Visitor Center (375 Meeting St).

Hard Hat Tour: 65 South St.

65 South Street

Located in Charleston’s Eastside neighborhood, 65 South Street is a c. 1895 house currently undergoing a major and long-overdue rehabilitation thanks to its committed owners and an expert project team, including Fenno Architecture and Rockwell Construction. Join us to learn more about preservation methods, architectural history, construction, and craftsmanship as we explore this ongoing project. The tour will be followed by coffee, pastries, and the opportunity for further discussion with the project team.

Steeples of the Holy City Lecture: St. Philip's Church Restoration

Join us for the first of our summer lecture series, Steeples of the Holy City, beginning with the current restoration project at St. Philip’s Church. As the oldest congregation in South Carolina, St. Philip’s has withstood over three centuries of history, including numerous natural disasters and wars. This panel discussion with parish leadership, as well as the engineering and construction teams, will give you an inside look at what it takes to preserve and protect this iconic landmark in the heart of historic Charleston.
