Bob Vila, esteemed host of This Old House and advocate for historic preservation, will join us as the inaugural speaker of the Cahill Distinguished Lecture. Local preservation contractor Moby Marks of Richard Marks Restorations will join Bob in conversation about the importance of preservation and inspiring the next generation of preservationists and craftspeople.

The Preservation Society will be popping up all over the Lowcountry to celebrate National Preservation Month. All are welcome to join us for a meet and greet to learn more about the PSC’s work and ongoing initiatives. Guests can also enjoy site tours of the historic Battery Gadsden artillery battery, home of Battery Gadsden Cultural Center for arts, history, and historic preservation on Sullivan’s Island.

Gibbes Landing Historic Marker Unveiling Celebration

10th Ave, between Gordon St and Winyah Alley in Wagener Terrace, Charleston, SC
Join us and our community partners to celebrate the installation of a new State historic marker at Gibbes Landing. Located at the mouth of Halsey Creek, Gibbes Landing was a significant point in the Siege of Charleston during the American Revolution. The marker dedication and unveiling will be followed by a neighborhood block party.
