Morris Street Business District Digital Exhibit Now Live

The Preservation Society of Charleston is excited to announce that the Morris Street Business District digital exhibit is now LIVE via the Lowcountry Digital History Initiative! Building by building, this virtual exhibit illuminates Charleston’s complex racial and social history through the lens of Morris Street, where generations of Black and immigrant families created one of the largest and most vibrant commercial corridors in the city.
Explore the exhibit sections spanning more than 200 years of Morris Street’s history and an interactive map that provides a closer look at the individual structures and stories that comprise this important, yet under-documented district.
