Virginia Swift – Biography

Virginia Swift began her career in Charleston working for numerous historic house museums downtown, including the Charleston Museum’s Heyward-Washington House and Middleton Place Foundation’s Edmondston-Alston House. Her passion for history, culture, and the arts, fuels her professional career and dedication to non-profit management. She has experience cataloging local, private art collections, including the retrospective museum show and book, Manning Williams: He Taught Us How to See. A graduate of the College of Charleston’s Arts Management and Historic Preservation & Community Planning programs, Virginia has put her blended skillset to good use in the Preservation Society of Charleston’s Advancement Department. As Manager of Programs, Virginia oversees all programming and events throughout the year, as well as corporate sponsorship, and the PSC’s volunteer program. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering with HEART Inclusive Arts Community, listening to- and making music, and exploring new places.
